This near mint condition 1978 Tama Superstar drum set is identical to the iconic Tama Superstar set that Neil Peart played with RUSH in almost every detail. It’s hard to believe a massive set like this could go 44 years with barely any evidence of wear and tear.

Feb 7, 2020 · This thread is to show my tribute to Neil Peart through building a replica 80's Tama set (or two). Since I was 10 years old I dreamed about having the Superstar set that Neil played. From Permanent Waves to Power Windows, I was in love with his drums.

These are Tama Starclassic drums in Neil's Candy Apple red finish, not the superstars from 40 years ago, so they look the same but sound better. An absolute joy to play!

Neil Peart. In the late 1970s, Peart switched to a Tama Superstar kit, featuring a custom Rosewood finish by the Percussion Center in Fort Wayne. The kit had brass-plated hardware and included a large array of concert toms, double bass drums, and orchestral percussion.
