The scythes investigated, but not nearly enough to declare the death to be faked. As far as they were concerned, the only evidence were witnesses, and some surveillance of Faraday walking into the station. Now the witnesses were given immunity, which can only be from a Scythe. And Faraday was the only Scythe there.

The scythe is unable to capture Citra and she is able to escape. Citra journeys the beach house Gerald Van Der Gans and sees a man. She shoots him in the knee caps and upon reaching him she realizes that the man is Faraday! Chapter 33 Both the Messenger and the Message: Citra carries Faraday into the home and apologizes for harming him.

Nov 30, 2023 · They were more desperate to find a reason to get rid of Citra than to actually solve Faraday's murder, because both of them were threats to the corruption that Xenocrates, Goddard and most of the other Scythes all enjoyed (and also, Goddard wanted Citra gone because she was accusing HIM of having killed Faraday, and had blackmail on Xenocrates).

The High Blade comes to Rowan and Citra to tell them that Scythe Faraday has gleaned himself. He takes them to his home in Fulcrum City to explain what happened, and that they are now unbound unless a Scythe takes over their training.

They were accepted into the scythedom, but were overruled when the superiors decided that the winner of the battle to become a scythe must glean the loser. After Faraday proceeds with a self-gleaning, the two characters are separated and become interns of two drastically different mentors.
