Oct 25, 2015 · A junk is an ancient Chinese sailing ship design that is still in use today. Junks were developed during the Song Dynasty (960–1279) and were used as seagoing vessels as early as the 2nd century AD.

Trace around the ship template onto the shade cloth using a black felt-tip marker. Use a ruler to draw in faint dotted lines (for folding) onto the shade cloth (as seen on the template). Cut out the ship, then fold the sides over along the dotted lines. Press the folds firmly to make a crease.
