Nov 7, 2016 · Most of the ground terminals in the engine bay on this car were not looking too fresh (or missing, in the case of the LH head to frame strap). Are there any grounds on the block or heads hiding under the IM that I wouldn't be able to spot with the cover and IC removed?

Some people have fixed it by soldering some wires on the main harness that runs along the passenger side. I'll try and find the thread later when I am not on mobile...

May 30, 2020 · The automatic transmissions are provided grounding by a wire that is bolted to the valve body directly or has a path to a ground via the case. Pull up any ground distribution diagram and you'll see every component on the car leads back to an "earth" which is a ground lug somewhere on the car.

Dec 25, 2019 · Most important ground to check would be the earth at the starter motor. If you want to experiment you could attach jumper leads from various points to earth and see if it makes a difference. I added heavy earth cables from the engine to each of the strut towers on mine.

Aug 21, 2012 · Subaru uses enough ground straps, hence the grounding kit "upgrade" not usually doing anything but adding color. Once the car has reached a certain age (corrosion) it can help but cleaning the ground points works just as well until you add a crap ton of electronics.

Aug 16, 2017 · In most cases the entire engine/ECU wiring harness has a common ground point at the back of the motor near the starter, which has a thick ground wire straight to the battery ground. The strap by the starter if for starter current.
