ITB's do NOT use ram theory to get that extra kick at peak torque because they usually in race form do not have a plenum.

Feb 27, 2013 · A longer discharge pump will also have an affect on the pump(s). One would expect that there will be some backpressure from the discharge conduit that both pumps are discharging into. So it would probably be considered a parallel pumping arrangement, with the effect of the discharge piping arrangement dependent on the flow generated headloss.

Anything higher will result in excessive friction loss which could affect the NPSHa We as designers don't care why the pump manufacturer size their pump nozzles the way they do. They have their own reasons.

Apr 12, 2002 · After fan VFD has turned down to minimum approximately 3000 FPM exit velocity, open up the OA bypass to mix w/ the lab exhaust air & keep the stack discharge velocity in the 3000 FPM range. Consider using strobic fans w/ plenum & OA bypass dampers. Size duct connection to plenum at max 1200 FM velocity to minimize system effect losses.
