Sep 29, 2018 · If you don't find anything that will take a busted VHDX file you could try a last ditch idea: Write a copy of the VHDX file to a hard disk using DD. Don't worry about stripping headers off, it won't really matter to the below. Point Photorec or other file recovery software at this hard drive. Hope it finds stuff.

However, with a non-corrupt file once saved as an .sdocx it can be converted to a .zip file to compare the information. I have noticed however that when you extract and then compress a non-corrupt zip file this corrupts the file.

At this point, uploading a corrupt file is always an attempt to game the system. A blank file is almost as suspicious. A wrong file is intentional stalling 90+% of the time, but every once in a while does happen accidentally. I count them all as late with a 10% penalty, but not a zero.
