May 11, 2021 · You can generally use any box on any bars, most have claw like attachments. Depends how much you want to spend, Kamei and Thule mostly top out the reviews. More expensive boxes tend to be more aerodynamic and rigid cutting down noise and fuel costs.

Mar 7, 2023 · Thule bars sit lower and are closer to the roof line which also helps with reduced drag and noise, both when when driving with or without the roof box mounted on the bars. If you need more clearance between the roof, then BMW bars are better.

Mar 29, 2021 · I ended up purchasing the BMW branded 420 liter box and BMW roof bars. Slightly more expensive than a Thule equivalent, but got a bit of a discount so price difference was negligible. I think they look and function great.
