High Voltage splicing training | Information by Electrical ...
Aug 19, 2007 · you all are hitting the nail right on the head, the most important part of splicing is cable prep, making sure there are no contaniment and sanding down the insulation to make sure there are no voids, i have been splicing for a little over 11 years full time, 18 + years total, my best learning experiance is from the field, and the gentleman in ...

Dec 23, 2010 · I have been working in low voltage industry with motors up to 500 hp 460 volt. I would like to find information and training on safety and procedures for MV equipment installation, cable termination, and troubleshooting. Anybody have …
High Voltage Underground Cable Installation | Information by …
Dec 7, 2016 · Just need some information about XLPE underground cables in industrial location. Up to 132 kV, the cables can be direct-buried with the splicing done in dehumidified environment (using cable jointing tents). Can the cables of voltages above …
medium voltage splicing | Information by Electrical Professionals …
Apr 6, 2010 · Books are nice but MV cable splicing is an art that can only be learned throuhg proper hands on training. Doing acceptence tests of MV cables for 15 years I have seen about a 30% failure rate on instalations by non ncscb certified splicers, or guys who think all you need to do is follow the directions in the kit.
Separating high and low voltage in the same box
Nov 11, 2015 · This is fine with me but the HVAC crew is running a 18-2 conductor to a junction box directly under the switch that controls the exhaust fan. They are claiming that as long as I junction the 18-2 into a 14-2 NM-B before it goes into my switch box then I don't have to separate the high and low voltage in the box. I have never heard of this.
Shielded vs Unshielded Medium Voltage Cable
Jan 28, 2021 · As well as confining the electric field, a shield establishes and limits the voltage gradient through the insulation all along the cable. If it was unshielded and say a grounded metal object with a sharp edge or small radius was in close proximity to the cable, then that would concentrate the field (i.e., increase its gradient) in that area and ...
Voltage Drop - how much do splices cancel out upsizing?
Apr 2, 2019 · I have a customer that I'm trying to set right about a voltage drop question, and I'm pondering the question below. Take this kind of a general theoretical question that I've put specifics on the for the sake of clarity. Given: the equipment terminals can accommodate max 10awg. The customer wants to use 2awg to avoid voltage drop.
Splices of Class 2 leds wired with mc cable
Jun 29, 2017 · The code is permissive; if there isnt a section saying 'you can't do that', then you can do it. There is no article or section that says LV/LE splices must be made in boxes, nor anything in 330 that says MC cable must be terminated. 110.12 is a lame/improper citation, and I wouldnt hesitate to go over the inspector's head on this one. 110.12 is NOT a catch-all for 'I dont like it, therefore ...

Oct 16, 2003 · The Okonite company field representives helped on the material, and procedure for splicing and terminating. The sea air made for real problems with this high voltage. The 1000 HP motor started across the line. The voltage drop served as a reduced voltage starter.
