Aug 27, 2013 · I found MAST pants on a backup rig we had in service the other day. I asked the captain if he wanted to keep them on there and he said we might as well. I asked why and he answered "well the case is really useful for trendelen..." and then trailed off when he remembered that too also out of style.

Jun 18, 2009 · Air Splints has not been popular in most EMS services for several decades (not because of the hygeine) for the reason is the extremity has to be straight, the plastic will crack and cause tear/leakage and other factors such as pressure changes.

May 26, 2010 · Actually, surgeons are educated on them. Most just don't have any respect for MAST. I suspect that most EMs are educated on them too. I live for the day i get to cut a set off of a patient. Even better if it is in a trauma bay in front of the person who put them on. Then they will go tell all of their EMS buddies how stupid I am.
