Nov 14, 2008 · If I loaded the map correctly follow the roadbed out of Cortalnd west you will see Mosquito creek cross the road at aprox .46 miles out. Immediatly to the NE of the bridge is a split in the creek, where it goes around an island. Feb 26, 2023 · Hit the lake yesterday and it went just as we thought. Sucked ! Seems like most fish were in deep water so played with them on the livescope. Mix of crappie and gills and not a walleye to be found . Didnt try shallow but also didn't see much less than 16ft. That lake sure needs some help but it has gone through this before and will come back ...

Sep 7, 2004 · Anybody know much about the Flatheads in Mosquito Lake as far as bankfishing areas? I fish the Ohio River for the Flats but know there are Flats at Mosquito. They put 10,000 1 1/2" fingerlings in in 1967. I've seen photos of 40# fish at the bait shops in West Branch from juggin Mosquito.

Jan 30, 2022 · If you don't have a clue where to start, this 100 yo map MIGHT give you a clue. Creeks, humps & drop-offs. & The ODNR placed piles of 'structure' way back in '08ish,,, but they used TREES. BIG MISTAKE. Trees rot away & make more SLOP on the bottom. :<(There are also 2-3 spots where they placed huge plastic cable spools (SMART IDEA ;>) (Google Maps)

Aug 18, 2017 · I don't think Mosquito is the lake it used to be, but it's still a great lake. Depending upon the people participating, expect needing 10 lbs or better to even sniff a check. The causeway was mentioned I think the north side east of the bridge opening is the best. Bounce a squarebill off the rocks and I mean shallow against the rocks.

May 10, 2012 · Back in the 80's, Mosquito had a huge draw down when they built the two break waters at the opening of the state park marina. I personally found a house foundation just south of the causeway. It was as clear as a bell. A big square pile of rubble. At the same time, I could touch parts of the underwater bridge with the tip of my fishing rod.

May 7, 2008 · I just got back from Mosquito. Been camping there since Sunday. The walleye fishing has been very slow this past week. Unusual for this time of year. Most of the walleyes caught are small and thrown back. 14=19 fow of water seems to be the trick. Shore fisherman off the rocks at the marina were killing the catfish yesterday on nightcrawlers.
