Depending on the model, you will top out at a 400Mbps PHY rate, though due to how noisy the 2.4GHz band is, since it is used by a massive range of other wireless devices, including various high powered comercial transmitters, it is just a noisy band in general.

Apr 30, 2020 · In preperation of this event (upgrade from ADSL of less than 4 Mbps Down) I splurged and bought the Nighthawk AX8 router for my home network. As far as I could tell when I bought it, the NBN connection box does all of the decoding and all I needed was a modem/router with an 'Internet' or 'WAN' port, which the AX8 has. The RAX80 is a router.

I turned the RAX80 off and on again and now, some of my configurations have been gone. For example, I enabled VPN (and it was working) and after the restart, VPN is now disabled. It's the same with QoS.

May 17, 2023 · My RAX80 — Nighthawk AX8 is the same router used for both connections. The internet was operational when using the cable internet provider. Currently, there is confirmed internet at the point of the ONT (optical network terminal just in case). The ONT is connected to my RAX80 by ethernet. The RAX80 is not connecting to the internet.
