I didn't see an SAP button on the Contour-2 remote, so I doubt she's accidentally navigating through Main Menu > Settings > Device Settings > Audio. I could imagine her accidentally enabling it on the Contour-1 remote. It's the Arrow button. If SAP is enabled but the program does not carry a second audio track, there will be no audio.

To disable SAP, press the COX/MENU button on the mini box remote control. Use the up or down arrow to highlight Settings and then press Select. Highlight Language Options and press Select. Highlight Audio Language, and then press the RIGHT arrow or SELECT button. Highlight Primary (English) and press Select.

Oct 25, 2022 · The C button is not on the actual remote, but on the nunchuck that attaches to it. The C button is on the top rear of the nunchuck, right above the Z trigger, behind the directional joystick.

I noticed there is an option to "reset" your SAP setting in Contour. Contour button > Settings (gear icon) > Language > Audio Language (SAP) Reset. I don't know if this will fix your problem but I've read about this problem in previous posts. It just may be a coincidence to fix something else.
