Mar 15, 2018 · Working on a T5 behind a flathead in a Model A. Does anyone make a kit that extends the gearshift further forward to where it should be in an A? This is in OZ and is an early commodore T5. Or if anyone has made their own shifter extension , pics would be great .

Mar 13, 2013 · I modified a NOS Ford t-5 shifter to work on a Chevy camaro-s-10 combo and short shifted it. Raise the pivot point by drilling a hole 'X amount', raise the plate up with a spacer the same amount.

Jan 20, 2010 · The S-10 shifter has a funky S-bend in it and the Mustang one is straight with the 2 holes in it for the shifter to bolt to. Last night I took the S-10 and the Mustang shifters apart and swapped over the Mustang shaft to the S-10 mount that bolts to the transmission.

Feb 11, 2003 · If you have used the the Camaro bellhousing that tilts the trans 15 degrees, then any Camaro / Firebird T5 aftermarket shifter will work because they are made with the angle built in. Hurst and B&M are two that come to mind.

The OE F-body shifter was also bent rearward to optimize fit; but when swapping these parts into other vehicles, the OE shifter rarely fits well. And so I offer this special base to improve fitment in conversions.
