Shotcut render to VOB problem - Help/How To - Shotcut Forum
Nov 12, 2017 · I can turn a rendered .MP4 into a .VOB with an authoring tool (WinX app). The .MP4 is about 2.3 Gb. The .VOB is something like 200 Mb and the resolution is nothing like the .MP4. How do I coerce an authoring tool to just pass the source file straight through without shrinking it? ADDED: I dropped WinXDVDwhatever (it’s bundled with other stuff I do need) for …

I was noticing when I’d play the DVD of the new edited version, it had all these horrible horizontal lines from deinterlacing not correctly happening… Doing some exploration, I found …

Jul 28, 2022 · I’ve been using SHOTCUT for some months now. I’m systematically converting my family video DVD’s to MP4 (H.264) but I have found I can’t import my (non macrovision protected) .vob files fully into SHOTCUT. .vob file import size limitation - Bug - Shotcut Forum
Sep 28, 2017 · I use WINFF to convert the the .vob files to basic .MP4. It does the job quickly and renders it to a smaller file size - typically 264 Mb - for a .vob file that begins as a 1 Gb file. I also experience synching issues when doing this. Can anyone shine a light on this whereby I can import the .vob file into SHOTCUT without losing half the file.
Editing VOBs: Convert to MP4 or DV? - Shotcut Forum
Jun 25, 2018 · Each DVD has 2 hours of footage. The MP4 version i’ve managed to make about 6GB, while the NTSC DV file is 26GB. Obviously there would be no increased video quality with the DV file, but would it be easier on the system and more accurate to edit with? I’ve noticed that shotcut plays the MP4 perfectly, while the DV file stutters and drops audio.

Nov 2, 2019 · I tried exporting a MPEG2 video file with AC3 audio in the VOB and MP4 container and noticed that the VOB file has frame drops on MPV and VLC which ruin the video since I-Frames are being skipped aswell. MP4 file worked perfectly. Not sure if it is caused by the VOB container itself or the implementation into Shotcut. 🤔

Choice of VHS or CD VOB as Input Format - Shotcut Forum
Feb 8, 2021 · To be brutally true I don’t know the exact answer but I did know that VHS into Elgato into MP4 will take a whopping time to export but in most cases the loss is around 1 to 2%, So if you use CD VOB files into Shotcut exported to MP4 it would be a better choice but it could decrease 2 to 3% quality but still it will be a very good quality ...
