Recall that they used to own Quicken, they got rid of it to focus on Mint, now they're getting rid of Mint -- and people are switching back to Quicken. Agree it's dumb on their part but I think they ultimately decided that their butter is breaded with Quickbooks and TurboTax and the rest is an experiment at best.

Apr 11, 2022 · In my opinion, mint - based on lubuntu, cares more about the user's privacy and security. At one point, Ubuntu had spyware users could not opt out of. Mint, has a good interface. At one contract I was required to use Ubuntu. At that same time I had a Linux mint desktop I was using for development.

Feb 6, 2022 · Linux Mint's goal is to achieve a feature-complete and long-term stable OS without the need of tinkering. Imo Mint is here obviously the better choice, because it offers everything you'd get from Debian with the addition of a really well integrated desktop and a whole lot of tools preloaded to make your life easier.

Apr 27, 2022 · There's also a noticeable performance increase in POP than Mint (but again, that might be it's age maybe Mint 24 will be just as fast as POP with Gnome), and the launcher is great. In the interest of balance Mint does these things better: Web Apps, Nemo is far superior to Nautilus, Snap being banned by default, a decent update manager.

I use old Lenovo ThinkPad e430 as my daily, I dual booted last week. Mint is good for me , but the keyboard issue is killing it, it works in mint most of the time. But After waking up from sleep keyboard works for sometime but after pressing 2-3 keys it's t stops working and I have to boot into windows then comeback to mint to get it working again.
