2006 XC90 16K miles - Noticed while cleaning the car that the drivers seat is cracking all over the place and I see white below the leather. This is a commuter car - its been babied. Not sure if I should approach the dealer i bought from or call volvous.

For comparison, in our VW Touareg, and in Volvo XC90, the seat belts are kind of tight in cracks of seats and the child seats are locked in pretty tightly. Jeep Commander had same issue as MDX. Just to clarify, I am not talking about infant seats that latch, but rather full size booster seats that only connect via seat belts.

The tranny problem was with the Volvo XC90 T6 (not a V6 engine) . The 6-cylinder engine in the 2007 and later Volvo XC 90 3.2 is a non-turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine (I6) with a different tranny from the problem one in the T6. On the highway my wife's 2007 XC90 3.2 I6 FWD gets as much as 26 mpg.

My wife 5'3" and my mother 5'2" took a couple of 2 hours trip in the 3rd row of our XC90 and they claimed to be very comfortable. You can slide the 2nd row up a bit to give more room back there, not all SUV's give you this possibility. Also, the Volvo has the only third row seat that I would consider safe in a rear end accident.

Apr 1, 2021 · I have an XC90 for family of 4 BUT we have used it and taken our kids friends in it all the time. Pre pandemic I would often have 6 people in the car with no issues. I say go for it. It’s the best car we have ever had, and we have had quite a few.

I did get the issue resolved but it was a pain. The ignition switch went out, and the parts are only available from Europe at Volvo's main warehouse. So, it took almost a week to fix. We were out of town (500 miles from home). The Volvo dealer in Des Moines gave us a loaner to drive back east, then they had the car transported back to our house.
